Grease Interceptors

Exterior grease interceptor / grease tank purpose is to help separate and minimize the fats oil and grease (F.O.G.) from flowing out into private septic systems or municipal waste water disposal systems. The flow of F.O.G. causes overflows, severe line backups and is very difficult for waste water treatment plants to treat and can solidify into a concrete like condition. This condition makes conventional pumping and cleaning of the interceptor very difficult, which leads to expensive cost for specialized vacuum equipment, jetters, confined space entry, manual labor, disposal cost and possible municipal fines.

Interior grease interceptor / grease trap purpose is to help separate and minimize the fats oil and grease (F.O.G.) from flowing out into main drain lines, private septic systems or municipal waste water disposal systems. Failure to maintain grease traps can lead to the same issues described above with exterior grease interceptors.

In several states, towns and cities Grease Interceptors are required to be cleaned at a minimum of quarterly or more frequently is F.O.G. levels exceed one quarter of the tanks volume. This is to reduce the probabilities of drain issues, backups and failures with waste water disposal systems.

Allowing PureFlo professionals to properly clean your grease interceptors / tanks regularly reduces your risk and gives the opportunity to identify any potential problems and address these issues before they become unmanageable.

PureFlo highly recommends at a minimum of quarterly pumping and cleaning of the exterior grease interceptor (tank) and a monthly service on the interior grease interceptor / trap.
